Last Name, First Initial. Middle Initial. of first author, & Last Name, First Initial. Middle Initial. of second author. (Publication year). Title of book. Publisher

Example

Stevens, M., & Swan, A. (2006). De Kooning: An American master. Knopf

 

                            For multiple authors, place a comma between author names and before the ampersand

                            Over 20 authors, list the first author followed by a comma, then et al. EX: Smith, J., et al. (2020).

Chapters from an anthology

Format

Last Name, First Initial. Middle Initial. (Year). Title of essay. In Editor's First Initial. Last Name (Ed.), Title of collection (pp. ). Publisher

Example

                             When citing publishers, omit business abbreviations, like corp. inc., co.

                             Page numbers are always preceded by pp.

                             Students should provide a DOI or permalink even to the library database so their professors can easily access it
